ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HALO®'S SLEEPSACK® COLLECTION
As a trusted sleep brand in the U.S. for over 25 years, the HALO®’s mission to create simple, innovative products that make safe sleep easier for you and more comfortable for your baby began with the SleepSack® collection. The HALO® SleepSack® wearable blanket and swaddle continue to be our best-selling products, and are the number 1 choice of U.S. hospitals nationwide.
The HALO® SleepSack® is designed to eliminate the need for loose blankets and ensure safe sleep and is easy to adjust baby’s temperature with sleepwear. As recommended by The Lullaby Trust, a lightweight, well-fitting baby sleep bag is comfortable and safe for sleeping babies and a room temperature of 16-20°C. Since it can be difficult to gauge the temperature of a room, they also recommend the use of a room thermometer where your baby sleeps.
While both the SleepSack® swaddles and sleeping bags are safe and easy to use, there are some guidelines to using each effectively, and even ways to best transition from the swaddle to sleeping bag.
The HALO® SleepSack® swaddle
For newborns 0 - 6 months, the HALO SleepSack® swaddle features a 3-way adjustable design to fit baby’s sleep style: arms in, hands-to-face, or with one or both arms out.
- Slip the SleepSack® swaddle over baby's regular sleepwear. Never use loose blankets in a cot.
- Secure the swaddle wrap around your baby using the fastener strips.
- You may choose to use the swaddle feature with arms in or arms out.
Transition Period
When your baby shows signs of breaking free from the HALO® SleepSack® swaddle or rolling over, it’s time to discontinue swaddling and transition to the sleeping bag. To make this transition easier, HALO® recommends to gradually transition your little one to the SleepSack® sleeping bag/wearable blanket. You can do this by swaddling baby for a few nights with one arm out, then eventually two arms out of the swaddle.
