How do I transition my baby from swaddling to a SleepSack® Sleeping Bag?
-
When your baby shows signs of breaking free from the SleepSack® Swaddle or rolling over, it’s time to discontinue swaddling. To make the transition easier, we recommend gradually transitioning your little one to the SleepSack® Sleeping Bag. You can do this by swaddling your baby for a few nights with one arm out, then two arms out of the swaddle. Your baby will still have the secure feeling of the swaddle while gradually adjusting to having his arms free.
Can I start using a larger-sized SleepSack® Swaddle on my newborn and then he/she can just grow into it?
-
We do not recommend using a SleepSack® Swaddle that does not correspond to your baby’s current size. The purpose of the swaddle is to keep your baby from having any excess material that may bundle up around baby’s nose or mouth. If the baby is wearing a swaddle that is too large, there is a potential for the baby's head to slip through the neck hole or for excess material to bundle up around his or her face.
How does the SleepSack® Swaddle help babies sleep safely?
-
The SleepSack® Swaddle replaces loose blankets in the cot that can cover a baby’s face and interfere with breathing. It also helps reduce the risk of baby overheating.
Why is the SleepSack® Swaddle sleeveless?
-
It is sleeveless to reduce the chance of baby overheating and is easier to be worn with regular sleepwear underneath.

How do I use the SleepSack® Sleeping Bag?

Slip the SleepSack® Swaddle Sleeping Bag over your baby's regular sleepwear as a replacement to loose blankets in the cot. SleepSack® Ideal Temp
Can SleepSack Ideal Temp be used throughout the year?
-
Yes. Ideal Temp is designed to help keep your babe at a comfortable temperature at any time of year. It helps takes the guesswork out of how to dress them for sleep regardless of the season.
How is HALO SleepSack Ideal Temp different from other HALO SleepSacks?
-
SleepSack Ideal Temp is the ONLY SleepSack that includes IntelliThread™ technology to help regulate baby’s body temperature.
How does IntelliThread Technology work?
-
IntelliThread is a temperature regulating fabric technology that helps keep your baby safe and comfortable during sleep. It absorbs heat when baby is too warm, stores it, and then releases it back when their temperature dips. It helps control their temperature, avoiding heat spikes so they can sleep better. IntelliThread is embedded in the swaddle fabric, and won’t fade or wash out over time.
What is HALO SleepSack swaddle Ideal Temp made from?
-
It’s made of an extra soft, cosy blend of polyester and rayon.
Does IntelliThread Technology eventually wear out over time?
-
IntelliThread fibers are embedded in HALO SleepSack swaddle Ideal Temp, so they will never fade or wash out.
What is the best room temperature for a baby when sleeping?
-
The ideal temperature is between 16-20°C. It can be difficult to judge the temperature in the room, so use a room thermometer in the room where your baby sleeps to help.
How do I know if my baby is too cold or hot during sleep?
-
Speak with your pediatrician if you have concerns about your baby’s temperature while sleeping. Signs that your baby is too warm may include flushing, sweating, or breathing heavily. If you change the temperature, check your baby to make sure they’re comfortable. Gently touching the back of the baby's head or belly can help you assess their body temperature.
Are there any safety reminders when using HALO SleepSack swaddle Ideal Temp?
-
Always place your baby on their back to sleep. Never place anything in the sleep area with your baby. No pillows, bumpers, toys, or loose blankets.
Using this product is not a replacement for ensuring that baby’s room is a comfortable temperature, so always try to keep the room between 16-20°C. It can be difficult to judge the temperature in the room, so use a room thermometer in the room where your baby sleeps to help.
Specifically for Ideal Temp Swaddle: It must be appropriately sized, snug, positioned around the baby's torso, and securely fastened to reduce the risk of covering your baby’s mouth or nose. Discontinue swaddling when your baby shows signs of rolling over or breaking out of the swaddle.
Can I buy the size up for my baby, so they will be able to wear it longer?
-
Unlike clothing, baby cannot “grow into” a swaddle. Make sure to choose the correct size for your baby’s current height and weight; we recommend sizing down if your baby is in between sizes.
How does Ideal Temp compare to other HALO swaddles?
-
Ideal Temp swaddle is different from other swaddles. It’s made from a breathable, temperature regulating fabric that’s stretchier than standard HALO cotton or microfleece. To accommodate the extra stretch, Ideal Temp has shorter wings, which help provide the same snug fit babies find most comforting.
How do I know if Ideal Temp is the correct size?
-
Because Ideal Temp includes some stretch, it can run slightly bigger than our other swaddles. We recommend sizing down if your baby is between sizes.
Ideal Temp should fit snuggly around your baby’s arms and chest. If you notice excess material, the swaddle may be too big. We recommend waiting until your baby is slightly older and bigger to ensure a snug fit.
